It's a month since the launch of the exhibition and it's all gone pretty well. Very positive feedback and a decent attendance - even a few sales!
For those of you who couldn't make it you can take a visual tour at the link below.
Imperfect Recall tour
I've now shrunk the exhibition for the second month. This was due to the rear art of the gallery being rented out. Not ideal as the show feels a bit clumsy and squashed now. At least it was recorded for posterity and you can see it the way it was intended. I'll be working in the Architect's Gallery every Saturday if you still haven't been down yet. I make a decent cup of coffee and welcome the company!

Imperfect Recall
Imperfect Recall brings together a group of artists exploring memories as trace and fragment. Working in a variety of media, all ten artists map the rich and unsteady ground between past and present; history and recollection. Whether drawing on found material, as in the case of Ceuppens, Reid, Sirbu, Smith, and White or producing false memories from the familiar outlines of 1960s nostalgia, like House, the works question simple notions of recollection and feeling for the past. Russell and Culley construct works that, in different ways, fix the evanescent traces of memory in forms that thus are inherently distorted. Uglow and Bainbridge work through layers of media to produce works that evoke the rudimentary, uncanny landscapes of the unconscious.

THATNESS AND THERENESS: Exhibition update
I'm thinking of naming the forthcoming exhibition 'Thatness and Thereness' after this, one of my favourite tracks, by Ryuichi Sakamoto. I love the animation too.
I now have nine confirmed artists and one pending for the exhibition. I'll announce the list soon after I've spoken with Sam at the gallery, just to make sure she's on board with what I'm trying to do. It's all very exciting.
Private View: Friday September 24th
-the show will run for apx 7 weeks (tbc)
Anyone know of a potential sponsor?
A fantastic cover version of the same track by Momus. And a really nice video again.
